Student of the Week!

Congratulations to our Student of the Week, Phil Gallo!  Phil lives in Oceanport, NJ and works at Monmouth Park and is a volenteer EMT.  He is also a Rutgers graduate.  Phil has been training at the academy for 4 months.  He attends our BJJ classes, No Gi Grappling classes, and Kickboxing classes.  One of the main reasons Coach Kurt chose Phil as the Student of the Week is because Phil is already proving to be extremely dedicated.  Phil will attend the morning BJJ class and then be back in the evening for more classes.  He sometimes takes 2 or 3 classes a day!  Coach Kurt was impressed by his eagerness to learn the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing.

Phil says that what he likes most about our academy is Coach Kurt.  He likes the fact that Coach Kurt is here every morning and every evening teaching the classes.  He said that his individulaized attention to the students is what really makes a difference.  Phil’s goals are to improve his physical fitness level and move up the ranks in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  He also has hopes to fight an amateur MMA fight one day.  By the looks of his commitment thus far, Phil is on the right path to acheiving these goals sooner than later!

Student of the Month!

Congratulations to our student of the Month, Anthony Manza.  Anthony lives in Belmar and attends Belmar Elementary School.  He is 11 years old and is in the 5th grade.  Anthony has two sisters, Kayla and Brianna and one brother, Mason.  Anthony’s parents Sean & Brigitte must be very proud of him!

Anthony has been training at our academy for almost 5 months. He partakes in our BJJ and Kickboxing programs.  Anthony’s favorite part of our academy is the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes because he like learning new grappling techniques with good friends.  Anthony would like to compete in mixed martial arts ones day because he likes the mixture of BJJ, wrestling, and kickboxing and these are all his favorite sports.

Coach Dave says that Anthony has displayed excellent team work in class and is always willing to help others.  Anthony also has excellent attendance and is a great listener!

All of our students are doing a great job and Coach Dave has noticed everyone stepping up.  Stay tuned to see who will be the Student of the Month for June!
